Unseasonably warm weather inspired 701 penguins to take the plunge during the 2012 Penguin Plunge. While the 2012 penguins splashed about in the 54.7 F Atlantic waters, an estimated 1500 spectators cheered them in their record-breaking efforts. Charitable contributions also set a new Penguin Plunge record as penguins and spectators contributed over $9052.46 to this year’s charity: Crystal Coast Hospice House.
